Wood carving and wood sculpting at Dunster by Candlelight

Reindeer wood carvings - a Christmas theme enjoyed by the children

I love wood carving and wood sculpture, don’t you? It’s so natural and authentic! So, I was more than pleased to see a wood craftsman sculpting wood during last weekend’s Dunster by Candlelight in West Somerset.

I particularly liked the ‘Free range reindeer’ – great for the kids – and it is particularly amazing that all the craft work was done by a chainsaw.

Other items included a bird of prey and what looked to my uninformed eye rather like a stork.

When I got back home, I checked out his URL and was pleased to see it was a local craftsman called Matthew Crabb who lives in Dunster.

If  you are thinking about a wood carving gift for someone special or perhaps for a great feature your garden, Matt is passionate about wood carving and would love to hear from you to discuss ideas for individual wood carving commissions.
